While we are in lockdown right now, as a neighbourhood grocery store Reimagine Co is an essential service. We are open to service you and allow you to buy your zero waste products and produce. All our products/grocery items are vegan friendly!
We ask that you properly sanitize whatever you're bringing, whether it's cloth bags, tupperware, or jars, so we can ensure the safety of other shoppers. We'll go over the best types of containers to bring for the types of products.
If you forget to bring a jar we also sell them in store. We also keep sanitized deposit jars/containers that you can borrow for $0.50 to $2 (depending on the size), and then return them on your next trip and get your deposit back. These containers will have small circular stickers on them to let us know that they are deposit containers. We have several prefilled containers (that are deposit jars) around the store as well, that are easy to grab and go. We also have funnels around the store which we ask whenever you are filling your jars since they act as a buffer between your jars from home and our bins.
See our grocery selection here, so you have an idea of what containers to bring. We recommend bringing a variety of containers and bags into the store when you come, as well as larger reusable grocery bags to put everything into and carry home!
Fresh Produce
We have large cooler as well as produce table which has many of the produce items that you would get at the grocery store. We sell organic, fresh produce such as mushrooms, apples, potatoes, baby spinach, and more. The best thing to bring for the produce are bags. We sell mesh produce bags if you would like to purchase and reuse those, or you can use old plastic bags from your previous grocery shopping trips. We have clean tongs for you to use, once you've used them you can put them in the "dirty" pile for us to clean/sanitize.
Cooking oils and vinegars
We also have all kinds of cooking oils (olive, sesame, canola, sunflower, coconut and flax) and vinegars (apple cider, balsamic, white). Jars would be the best container to bring, or if you have empty bottles of oil/vinegar from the grocery store that would work as well. A lot of people just wait until their old containers are empty and then bring that container in with them. This way it's easy to remember that you have olive oil in an old olive oil container!
Pantry items
At the back we have our gravity bins and scoop bins. The best containers to bring for these are mason jars or plastic jars. We have funnels that allow us to keep a buffer between your jars and our bins. They also help you to not spill food so we're not wasting things. We have all kinds of pantry staples here. For example, we have rice's, pastas, candy, cereals, many different kinds of flour, baking soda, icing sugar, sugars, just about everything that you could want! We have a section here for spices as well, you can use a spoon to scoop and fill up your smaller jars.
Nut butters
We have a variety of nut butters such as organic and natural peanut butter, almond butter, cashew butter, sunflower butter, and we've even got molasses. Jars with larger openings are best for this section. It may get a little bit messy, so we have some prefilled containers here that you're welcome to grab. Funnels are also your friend when it comes to filling nut butters!
Freezer
A lot of our freezer selection is made up of foods that you can just heat up and eat. The best containers to bring for these are tupperware or larger freezer bags. We've got fries, wedges, jerk jackfruit, and falafels. We have a variety of meat alternatives such as the impossible burger, the beyond burger, sol cuisine burger, meatless chicken tenders, sausages and more. We have some frozen vegetable and fruits that you can just pop in a jar and take home. If you have a sweet tooth we have the most amazing vegan chocolate chip cookie dough in the world, as well as bulk gelato, sorbet and Coconut Bliss ice cream.
Deli Section
At our deli section we have some great vegan cheeses, and sauces. Containers that are a little bit smaller than this would be best for the deli section. Tupperware works well to carry the cheese, and glass/plastic jars for the sauces. We've got ketchup, mustard, mayo, relish, chipotle aioli, garlic tzatziki, hummus and a bunch of different things to try out. Someone will fill your containers for you - so there's no mess!
Beverages
We have two delicious weekly flavours of kombucha on tap! We have glass bottles right beside the station for you to purchase, but feel free to bring any glass jars or bottles you may have. We also have fresh orange juice, apple juice, as well as homemade unsweetened almond milk and cashew milk! You can finally say goodbye to those cartons.
Refillery
Our refillery is hard to see when you walk in - it's located at the very back of the store, up the small ramp. Our Refillery we have all the things that we had at our old location on King Street. Since these are liquids it's best to bring jars, or old containers of your given product that you want to refill. We've got dish soap, laundry soap, laundry strips, dishwasher tabs, shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, beauty products, as well as all kinds of cleaning products. We've got just about everything that you would hope to find in your bathroom. To see a complete list of our Refillery products as well as prices, click here.
We hope this is a helpful walkthrough of our store! We can't wait for you to come in and see it for yourself. If you have anymore questions please check out our FAQ page or contact us.
