Even amidst Covid-19 and our quickly changing world, we are still talking about sustainability and issues we hold very close to our hearts.
Next week our founders, Kara Rijnen and Heenal Rajani, will be participating in two separate online events. We would like to invite you to join us at either or both of these fantastic one-hour events! Thank you so much for supporting us in our mission to share everything we know on sustainability so we can drive forward meaningful change together.Â
On October 27th at 7 pm Kara will be speaking on the Tackling Food Waste panel that is a part of the annual Green in the City seminar series presented by London Environmental Network. She will be joined by those sharing perspectives from Wellington & Guelph County and the City of London. Discussion points include exploring how to create a circular economy and eliminate food waste, London’s food waste reduction efforts, and how you can make some simple changes in your life to eliminate your food waste. Add this to your calendar and check out the Facebook event page for more info!Â
On October 28th at 5 pm, Heenal will be guest speaking at the Buying Sustainably Webinar presented by Western Sustainability. He will be joined by Dr. Wren Montgomery, Assistant Professor, Sustainability & General Management at Ivey Business School. During the webinar, they will dive into the nitty-gritty of buying sustainably and addressing the hard questions. What does it mean to make sustainable purchases? How can you be sure you're not purchasing items that are 'greenwashed' to appear sustainable? What are the roles of individuals and corporations when it comes to sustainable shopping? Add this to your calendar and check out the Facebook event page for more info!Â
We look forward to seeing you at one of these events and we’re looking forward to offering more workshops ourselves once our new grocery is up and running and we can focus on some other things. What kinds of events would you like to see at Reimagine? What would you most like to learn about? Are they particular speakers or topics for whom you would make a special effort to attend?
