Most modern homes have windows and doors with a good air seal, but it is important to test and take steps to save energy in the winter months no matter how new or old your home is. This also applies to the warmer weather too, when you want to keep the cold inside and not out.

Nov 1: DIY 3D Printed Parts

What is 3D printing, and how can you use it to get replacement parts for your gadgets? This workshop not only introduces you to the world of 3D printing but also demonstrates how to design parts that are hard to find. Bring your own laptop or tablet to get the most out of this session.

Nov 8: Mastering the Multimeter

Multimeters are invaluable for checking and diagnosing electrical problems. We'll cover some basics of electricity and guide you on how to use a multimeter effectively. For instance, learn how to check if a battery is still usable. Bring your own multimeter if you have one and follow along so you can use these new skills at home.

Nov 22: Soldering for Beginners

Soldering isn't just for experts. This beginner-friendly workshop teaches you how to understand circuit diagrams and offers practical debugging tips as you solder. You'll also take home a small tool that will aid you in future soldering projects!

Nov 29: The Art of Troubleshooting

Troubleshooting can often feel like a shot in the dark. This workshop provides a general approach to troubleshooting, improving your chances of a successful repair. While we'll reference items commonly repaired, the focus will be on a process approach with broader applicability.

Dec 6: Electrical Safety and Tips

Navigate the world of home electrical setups safely and learn what you can and cannot do at home. This workshop will cover ESA requirements, peace-of-mind inspections, different types of fuses and circuit breakers, and simple fixes you can do yourself.
